The carmaker revealed the new pickup truck with so many upgrades that includes the exterior and interior changes. An almost total revamp was a part of the fourth-generation changes, only three years after the latest redesign.
However, this time the reason is the 40th anniversary of the model. The arriving pickup will firstly arrive in Asia where is available under the name “Triton”. After that, another 150 countries will have an opportunity to buy this amazing model. The 2020 L200 will keep the existing engine lineup which includes gasoline and diesel options.
2020 Mitsubishi L200 Offers More Angular Styling
The new L200 pickup is just one of the 11 Mitsubishi’s models that will get significant refreshments. The 2020 Mitsubishi L200 will arrive with a more angular styling. The design is universal, both for the private and business customers.
That means the pickup isn’t designed only to provide toughness but also elegance and style. L200 is available in single, club and double cab body configurations. However, single cab won’t be available in the U.S. and Europe. The company’s Dynamic Shield design will remain but the numerous upgrades are more than visible. Some of the features are borrowed from the Outlander SUV model.
2020 Mitsubishi L200 Interior
From the inside, the Mitsubishi L200 will look very modern. The comfortable interior offers upscale materials and modern features. We still don’t know how many upgrades will happen, but Mitsubishi said that the interior will get some changes as well.
The current L200 offers one of the best interiors in the segment and new model will only get better. We don’t expect any significant changes in terms of new layout or a new dashboard. However, you can expect new modern amenities and more premium upholstery.
2020 Mitsubishi L200 Engine Performance
There will be two engine choices under the hood of the 2020 Mitsubishi L200. It is the two same options as on the current model. Japanese automaker mentioned the “Enhanced Performances” on the presentation so we can expect an additional performance boost. Until then, the standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine provides 140 HP.
The optional 2.5-liter diesel returns 180 horsepower and both engines will use a 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard engine comes with the fuel economy that is rated at 32 mpg and it can tow up to 7,000 pounds thanks to the 320 lb-ft of torque. Diesel powertrain will most likely offer even better tow rating after the performance boost.
2020 Mitsubishi L200 Price And Release Date
The brand-new 2020 Mitsubishi L200 will get a slight price increase. The current model is priced at $33,000 and the 2020 model will cost around $35,000. Upper trims will cost up to $50,000. The fourth-gen L200 will most likely arrive in November 2019.
It will arrive firstly in Asia and Thailand is the first country that will see the all-new pickup truck. The Asian version of the L200 carries the name “Triton”. L200 will arrive in Europe and U.S. in the first quarter of 2020. However, a single cab configuration won’t be available for those markets.
