Everything that revolves around the inbound Volvo XC40 is designed to suit you, the end user. It flaunts an impressive design and innovation, which are geared toward making your life more enjoyable and less complicated. Read on for more insight.
2019 Volvo Hatchback – Recognizable Design
The Volvo’s XC40 nomenclature is easy to decipher. As the company explains, XC implies an SUV whereas 40 denotes the fact that the new model slots a notch below the sec-gen XC60. Inspired by the 40.1 concepts that were revealed last year, the XC40 stands out from the crowd as far as the overall design goes. The XC40 is unmistakably recognizable in the Volvo lineup because it isn’t a carbon copy of the current model. It boasts its own, unique style.
From different angles, the incoming version mirrors its bigger siblings, such as the XC90 and XC60 SUVs. The front fascia reveals Thor’s Hammer LED headlight and grille design that reflect those of larger sport-utilities. We also can see some large, upward-sweeping rear pillars that appear to supply a sporty feel to the back.
Worth noting, the inbound 2019 Volvo hatchback shares the same platform with other cars developed by Geely Automotive. It measures 174.2 inches long and rides on a 106.3-inch wheelbase. These proportions make it very similar in size to the ongoing Mercedes-Benz GLA.
2019 Volvo Hatchback – Turbocharged Engine
The front-wheel-drive XC40 T4 variant gets its juice from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This unit is estimated at 200 horsepower. On the other hand, the 2019 Volvo hatchback T5 all-wheel-drive option comes furnished with a more powerful turbo four-cylinder unit with a rated 248 power. Both variants will be connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission
MSRP And Debut Date
At launch, the 2019 Volvo hatchback T4 variant with front-wheel drive only is expected to start at $33,200. The all-wheel-drive T5 option in Momentum trim will sell at $35,200. The pure electric version and a plug-in hybrid are likely to become available. The inbound Volvo XC40 is expected to be discharged in November at the 2017 LA Auto Show. More details will become available as soon as the release approaches.
