The reports which suggest the redesign of this model also directs us to look Acura’s bigger MDX SUV and new Honda CR-V for the design cues of the new RDX. In that context, the new RDX should adopt Acura’s latest design language which debuted on the 2016 MDX.
The main element of that concept is inverted pentagonal grille which should get its position alongside with the leaner Jewel Eye LED headlights. The new front bumper will round up the front-end design of the new RDX while the rear side should share some similarities with the newest CR-V. What should also make difference on the new version is sharper body lines.

As for the interior of this model, it should follow the same path as Acura’s latest models. Redesigned dashboard and fresh materials will come in combination with the supportive front seats and comfortable rear seating positions. However, the latest reports suggesting that Acura could adopt the four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This powerplant should be larger than the turbo-four in the new CR-V producing around 250 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. The transmission system could also be a new 8-speed dual-clutch like in Acura’s sedans or even the CVT. The new RDX thanks to the lighter architecture and new powertrain should also benefit from the better fuel economy. It could jump from the current 22 mpg combined to about 25 mpg.

If reports about the redesigned 2019 Acura Wagon turn out to be true, this model could arrive in next few months. The price should go up from the current base point to around $37, 000 considering that AcuraWatch suite should be standard.
